The 2018 Extra-Brut Le Cran is another compelling wine in this range from the Bérêche family. Apple tart, apricot, mint, yellow flowers, vanillin and a kiss of French oak lend an exotic flair. Chardonnay speaks with an assertive voice; it was picked at 11.5% potential alcohol and comprises 60% of the blend as opposed to the more typical 50%. Pinot Noir is just behind in terms of ripeness. This needs a bit of time to absorb all of its oak. Dosage is 3.85 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2025.
