Producer: Domaine Maratray-Dubreuil is a family-owned estate based in Ladoix-Serrigny at the northern end of the Côte de Beaune, where three generations of the Maratray family have quietly built a reputation for producing classical, terroir-driven Burgundy. Today, siblings François-Xavier and Marie-Madeleine Maratray oversee approximately 16–19 hectares of vineyards spanning Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chorey-lès-Beaune. Rather than chasing modern trends, the domaine remains committed to traditional Burgundian winemaking, allowing each vineyard to express its individual character. Their Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru stands as the crown jewel of the estate and represents one of Burgundy's greatest expressions of Chardonnay.
Vineyard: Corton-Charlemagne is one of only a handful of white Grand Crus considered the equal of Montrachet, occupying the upper slopes of the famed Hill of Corton across the communes of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses, and Ladoix-Serrigny. The vineyard's high elevation, cool exposures, and thin limestone and marl soils naturally limit vigor while producing Chardonnay of extraordinary concentration, tension, and longevity.
