Notes:
Immediate and inviting, the NV Les Béguines (2021 base), disgorged in October 2023, represents a commendable effort in what was a challenging vintage, when Jérôme Prévost lost about 80% of his production to mildew pressure and had sufficient fruit to fill only a single press. Mingling aromas of bitter orange, macadamia nut, apricot and honeysuckle with notes of clove and rooibos, it is medium-bodied, vibrant and saline, with a tangy, cool-vintage profile. It will come as no surprise that it is a touch more fragile and less complete than its two immediate predecessors, but in terms of aromatic definition—despite the challenges of the vintage—it appears more precise than the 2022 base.
