Notes:

The 2023 Saint-Aubin Derrière Chez Edouard ler Cru comes from vines on white marl soil, planted between 1985 and 2001. It has a harmonious bouquet with touches of shucked oyster shell infusing the green apple scents and a touch of dewy meadow. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, though I am just missing a little mineralité and terroir expression on the finish due to the growing season. Fine but I preferred the 2022 a year earlier. Neal Martin 90

Terroir: Above the village of Saint-Aubin, seated between the middle and lower sections of a southeast-facing slope, with shallow, stony, clay soil over a hard limestone bedrock (the middle section is steeper and contains more limestone).
Viticulture: Sustainable, organic methods
Vinification: Crushed and pressed, settled overnight, ambient yeast fermentation and aging for an average of 24 months on the lees in 300 and 600 L barrels (mostly used), aged for an additional 6 months in tank, fined and filtered if necessary, SO2 only added during aging (typically after the first year).
