This is also attractively perfumed with a similar liqueur-like quality to the spicier dark berry fruit nose that is nuanced by hints of wet stone and exotic tea. There is a bit more volume, and certainly more minerality, to the solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess a refreshing sense of verve that carries over to the youthfully austere, firm and built-to-age finale. The Roumier Cras virtually always ages well and the 2023 version should be no exception but in contrast to the Clos de la Bussières and Les Combottes, it's a wine that's going to require at least mid-term keeping first. The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras wafts from the glass with a rich bouquet of wild berries, violets, exotic spices and baking chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, suave and layered, it's ripe but balanced, with sweet structuring tannins and a mineral finish. William Kelley 92-95
