Notes:
- Domaine Gaston & Pierre Ravaut has been rooted in Ladoix-Serrigny for five generations, farming 12 hectares across the appellation. This is a family operation in the truest sense, with Vincent Ravaut at the helm since 2016 and his son Jules now working alongside him.
- Ladoix sits at the northern tip of the Côte de Beaune, sharing its limestone-rich soils with the great Corton hill just to the south. It remains one of Burgundy's most undervalued appellations, which is precisely why it belongs in this portfolio.
- The 2022 village wine is aged 12 months in French oak with just 15% new wood — enough to frame the fruit without overwhelming it. The result is a classic, transparent expression of Pinot Noir: ruby in the glass, with red fruit, fine tannin, and a refreshing acid thread that makes it as pleasurable now as it will be with a few years of cellaring.
- With production in the range of a few thousand bottles, this is the kind of wine that rarely makes it to the West Coast. If you know Ladoix, you already know why this matters. If you don't, this is the right introduction.
