Bouchard Meursault 1er Cru "Perrieres" 2017

92-94 WA

93 JS

Notes:

Claude Kolm 92-95

Medium-light, energetic, good penetration, good tension. (December, 2018)

Jasper Morris 93

Three plots. Maintains the palish colour. Then significantly heady. Perrieres often is on the edge of falling over. Very much a mineral style on the palate though with ripe bacon fat notes behind. Good acidity with just enough reductive character. (November, 2018)

James Suckling 93

A classically vibrant and intense Meursault with fine citrus, stones and bright, ripe peaches, leading to a very assertive and concentrated palate with great richness and acidity, driving long and deep. The power here is exceptional. Drink across the next decade. (January, 2019)

Vinous (Neal Martin) 90-92

The 2017 Meursault Perrires 1er Cru comes from 1.2 hectares of vine. It has a touch of reduction on the nose that makes it difficult to read at the moment. The palate is fresh on the entry, offering light orange pith, apricot and white peach notes. Slightly waxy in texture, with a spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Fine. (January, 2019)

Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92-94

Aromas of ripe lemons, praline, crushed chalk and white flowers introduce the 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrires, a medium to full-bodied, pure and chiseled wine with lovely mid-palate amplitude, a bright line of acidity and a chalky, tight-knit core. Like the Genevrires, this is one of the highlights from chez Bouchard this year. (January, 2019)
