Remi Jobard Meursault 1er Cru "Les Chevalieres" 2014

Notes:

Burghound (Allen Meadows) 88-91

A classic Meursault nose offers up notes of hazelnut, lemon rind, pear and plenty of acacia blossom nuances. There is a really lovely sense of underlying tension to the vibrant, racy and delicious middle weight flavors that are finer than those of the Narvaux if not quite as concentrated or complex. As is usually the case with this wine it is an exercise in finesse. (June, 2016)

Vinous Media (Stephen Tanzer) 91-93

"Bright lemon-yellow color. Captivating lift to the aromas of citrus fruits and minerals; not at all a peachy style. Chewy, sappy and concentrated, with dominant flavors of crystallized citrus peel. This strong, vibrant wine may well offer early pleasure but should also evolve gracefully in bottle. Finishes sappy and long." (September, 2015)

Wine Advocate (Neal Martin) 89-91

"The 2014 Meursault les Chevalires comes from east-facing vines planted back in 1940 that tend to matured late, the oldest under the aegis of Remi Jobard. It shares that apricot blossom note with the 2014 Les Narvaux, aromatics that you might describe as "neat and tidy," with peachy notes developing in the glass after. The palate is fresh on the entry with a taut line line acidity, much more reticent than the aromatics, but there is appreciable density in the mouth and a lovely spicy aftertaste. Delicious Meursault -- no more, no less." (December, 2015)
