Whiffs of wood and menthol still easily allow the ultra-fresh and airy nose of violets, lilac, dark currant and tea scents to be appreciated. There is a strikingly refined mouth feel to the intensely mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess real verve on the beautifully well-balanced and persistent finish where the wood telegraphed by the nose resurfaces. This is firm if not really austere but it is clearly built-to-age so some patience will be required. Burghound 91
