Burghound (Allen Meadows) 92
“There is a touch of dried apricot to the white peach, tidal pool and discreet citrus-infused nose. The lush but vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess good minerality and reasonably good detail, all wrapped in an impressively long and complex finish where a hint of lemon zest appears. This isn't especially refined but there is excellent underlying material and ultimately it should reward up to a decade of cellaring.” (October, 2016)
Vinous Media (Stephen Tanzer) 91+
“(from vines planted in 1974 and 1950): Musky wet stone and lemon on the nose. Boasts almost painful cut to its tight flavors of citrus peel, minerals and sexy soil tones; showing much more fruit and minerality than the young 2015 edition. Finishes lemony and taut, with notes of humid vegetable matter and crushed stone. This will need patience.” (July, 2016)
