Notes:

(a blend of 90-, 70- and 22-year-old vines): Bright, dark red. Knockout nose displays great floral lift to the aromas of raspberry, crushed rock and blood orange. Tangy and precise, with powerful stony acidity energizing the middle palate but also giving the wine a distinct youthful austerity; all in reserve today. Exciting inner-mouth tension and perfume suggest a long and graceful evolution in bottle. Boasts terrific clarity and a magically light touch. My style of Burgundy! -- Stephen Tanzer 92-94

This is almost Vosne-like given how spicy the essence of red berry fruit liqueur suffused nose is where there is just enough wood to notice. The silky mineral-driven flavors are ultra-pure and refined before culminating in a linear and hugely long finish. I like the mid-palate volume and concentration as there is plenty of tannin buffering sap present. In brief, this is a very impressive wine of harmony and grace. Burghound 91-94
