Notes:
By Stephen Tanzer Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, January/February 2012, Issue #160 (Domaine Jean Marie Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin) Good bright, deep red. Raspberry and red cherry fruit aromas are lifted by a floral element and nicely complemented by truffley underbrush. Tighter and higher-pitched than the Aux Echezeaux and less sweet today, but boasts excellent flesh and a tactile impression of energy. Very tightly coiled. Should make a stunning village wine. From the north side of Gevrey (Les Champerrieres); both these vines and those in Aux Echezeaux were planted in 1928. 90-93 points
This is also exceptionally fresh and complex and the composition of the aromas is much the same as the Aux Echézeaux except perhaps here they are ever-so-slightly more elegant. The textured, intense and solidly well-concentrated medium weight flavors possess real verve on the delineated, balanced and focused finish. This also is an excellent villages that is built to age and is also worthy of your consideration Burghound 89-91 Outstanding!
