Notes:
Allen Meadows' Burghound; October 2010
Not surprisingly, this is significantly more refined with its floral, oyster shell and tidal pool inflected nose that complements perfectly the racy, pure and strikingly well-detailed medium plus weight flavors that brim with minerality on the delicious, mouth coating and impressively long finish. This should both drink well young and age well too. Â 91-93 Points and Don't Miss Outstanding!
John Gilman's View from the Cellar; Nov/Dec 2010
The 2009 Montée de Tonnerre is also stunning. The nose offers up a beautiful mélange of apples, a touch of pear, kaleidoscopic minerality, acacia blossoms and beeswax. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows off great mid-palate depth, with ripe acids, laser-like focus and superb grip on the very, very long and nascently complex finish. The 2009 Montée de Tonnerre will drink sooner than either the 2007 or 2008 versions, but it loses nothing from its earlier structural accessibility. A superb wine.  93+ Points.
