(Vosne-Romane- Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg) The 2008 Vosne-Romane villages is really beautiful on both the nose and palate, as it possesses the perfumed elegance that Vosne is rightfully famous for at the upper levels of the appellations hierarchy, but which is not always in evidence at the villages level. The nose delivers a really elegant mlange of cherries, red plums, lovely minerality, roses and a delicate touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and tangy, with fine mid-palate depth, striking transparency and beautiful focus on the modestly tannic and zesty finish. Classy juice.
