Notes:
Allen Meadows, Burghound, January 2007
(approximately 55 year old vines). As it always is, this is certainly more elegant and slightly more complex as well with dense but pretty red fruit aromas that introduce pure and refined medium full flavors that are complex and balanced on the gorgeously long finish. This is brimming with potential as well and while it too will require plenty of patience, its class and grace could allow it to be approached in its youth. In a word, wonderful. 91-94 points and Sweet Spot Outstanding!
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 07
Full red-ruby. Reduced, austere nose hints at dark berries, licorice and minerals. Then silky and wonderfully fine-grained, with brilliant flavor definition and the breadth and palate coverage of a top grand cru. Compellingly dense and thick but not the least bit heavy. Finishes with uncanny aromatic persistence. A potentially brilliant example of Nuits-Saint-Georges from an estate that has consistently been at the top of the hierarchy in this village for at least the past 15 years. 93-96 points
