Here the brooding and reserved earthy red and dark berry fruit nose is much more deeply pitched and less elegant than that of the Charmes with rich, full and driving flavors that are powerful if not refined. This is a massive effort with a distinctly muscular quality to the sappy and very firmly structured flavors that completely coat the mouth on the almost unbelievably long finish. This is no model of finesse but it doesn't lack for depth or impressive potential as it harnesses the power and punch such that all elements are focused and balanced. Burghound 92-95 Dont Miss!
