Much more reserved than usual with backward but spicy black fruit aromas that merge into toasty, round, sweet, intense and wonderfully deep flavors and a sappy, incredibly long finish, all underpinned by fine, almost delicate tannins. There is a bit more toast here than I personally prefer but there can be no doubt that this is a terrific effort with outstanding base material. Burghound 90-93
