If I were to pick an owned vineyard in the Jadot portfolio that has made the most progress in the last 10 years, it would be the Clos St. Denis and the 2001 is only one more impressive example. Reserved and very subtle, understated aromas of small, black, fine pinot aromas with medium weight, reserved, classy and beautifully elegant flavors and a terrific, spicy, long finish. Simply stunning in its purity and while this is by no means as dramatic or showy as many of the best of this range, those who appreciate the virtues of impeccable harmony and discreet elegance will find much to admire here.
