Yet another wine that confirms how well Gevrey did in the 2001 vintage. Pungent, high-pitched, very spicy aromas merge into powerful, elegant, extremely precise, remarkably intense flavors and an incredibly persistent, sappy finish. Solidly structured but the structure is buried beneath all the concentration and sap and as such, this comes across as impressively harmonious for a young Chambertin. As good a Charlopin Chambertin as I can ever remember having from cask. Burghound 92-95
