Notes:
Allen Meadow's Burghound, Jan. 2002
A clear step as it delivers the same exquisite Chambolle fruit yet with a touch more nuance and complexity that is text book in its precision. Supple yet intense flavors with buried tannins, solid length and beautiful acid/fruit balance. 90 points
Steven Tanzer's Int'l Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 2002
Full red-ruby. Wild, aromatic nose combines black plum, cassis, herbs and dark chocolate. Juicy and slightly high-toned, with rather austere medicinal and menthol notes. In a distinctly tough, drier style. A second bottle showed aromas of currant liqueur and lead pencil; strong acidity; and much riper fruit to support the substantial tannins. My score is for the second sample. 89(+?) points
