Notes:
Interestingly given the propensity of Mont de Milieu to be notably ripe and exotic, here the nose features cooler aromas of spiced tea, citrus confit, white peach, quinine and wet stone. There is better size, weight and density to the solidly powerful larger-scaled flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the surprisingly long finish where a touch of wood eventually emerges. This promising effort is potentially excellent and a wine that always seems to develop well if given a chance. One to look for. Burghound 93
Pale lemon, with a sterner nose than in the sunny years. Builds very nicely though, keeping a pure mineral touch alongside the fruit, and delivering an excellent mineral crunch to finish, harmonious and balanced. Cool years suit the terroir, Benot thinks. 91-93
