The 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent wafts from the glass with aromas of crisp nectarine, white flowers, nutmeg, fresh pastry and spices. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled, with racy acids and chalky structure, it's a serious, complete wine that stands out as one of the high points of the portfolio.

Once again there is enough wood influence to mention framing the ripe and markedly floral scented aromas of mineral reduction, pear, apple and tidal pool. There is notably better energy to the delicious and refined middle weight flavors that are at once succulent yet nicely detailed, all wrapped in a clean and quite dry finish. This youthfully austere effort should be lovely as it has the intrinsic class of a fine Vaulorent. Burghound 91-93
