The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets reveals scents of cassis, plums, dark chocolate and spices framed by a generous application of toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and tightly wound, with tangy acids and an abundance of chalky tannin underpinned its deep core of fruit, this is unusually structured this year and will require patience.  William Kelley 93+
