The 2018 Chardonnay Trout Gulch Vineyard is very tight and reticent today, even for within the context of this site. Bright saline notes lend energy to a taut Chardonnay that is only showing some of its potential today. A bit of air softens the contours and brings out lovely inner perfume in the candied lemon peel and floral notes. I imagine the Trout Gulch will benefit quite a bit from time in bottle. - Vinous Media 93
