A distinctly phenolic oak trimmed nose (think olive oil nuances) makes it difficult to discern the underlying fruit. More interesting are the sleek, intense and beautifully well-detailed medium weight flavors that are both muscular and powerful while offering better depth and balance on the sappy finish where the wood telegraphed by the nose resurfaces.
