"Deep ruby color. The fruit profile is once again dark and ripe with notes of black cherry, plum and plenty of earth character. There is excellent richness to the caressing and rounded flavors that tighten up on the lingering and balanced if not especially complex finale though more depth should develop with a few years of cellar time."

"The 2015 Gevrey villages from Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy was one of the wines that was just a touch reduced, but a bit of coaxing revealed a very classy example. The nose is more black fruity in personality this year, wafting from the glass in a mix of black cherries, a touch of dark berry, bitter chocolate, dark soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure on the attack and very transparent in personality, with fine-mid-palate depth, lovely focus and grip and a long, bouncy and modestly tannic finish. Good juice. Drink between 2018-2040."

"The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages, which hails from 12 parcels distributed throughout the commune, offers up a pretty nose of red berries, rich soil and grilled meat, framed by cedary new oak (20% new). On the palate, the wine is fresh, medium to full-bodied and fine-grained, underpinned by a bright line of acidity."
Importer Neal Rosenthal
"Produced from four hectares' worth of small parcels scattered throughout the village, Harmand's Gevrey-Chambertin boasts a vine age of up to 80 years. Old-vine sappiness dominates the palate of this 2015, with thick, kirsch-like fruit, and an unabashed warm-earth element -- true, visceral Gevrey-Chambertin with an appealingly old-school bent. 20% new oak."
