Notes:

The 2015 Brucke Gold Kap Auslese is another absolutely beautiful wine in the making,
but interestingly, at the time of my visit, the nose was fairly closed and reticent and the palate
was amazingly expressive. The nose offers up a reserved, but very pure blend of pear, white
cherry, apple, blossoms, wild yeasts, lovely minerality and an esthery topnote of bee pollen. On
the palate the wine is fullish, clean and very racy, with a superb core, seamless balance, electric
acidity and stunning length and grip on the nascently complex and vibrant finish. This was made
from a combination of thirty percent botrytized bunches and the remainder golden berries or
gently shriveled grapes from Passerillage. I love the combination of filigree and lift on the
