Notes:

The 2015 Hermannshöhle Spätlese is every bit as stunning as the Brucke, but it is not
quite as concentrated at the core and shows a more delicate personality out of the blocks. The
glorious bouquet soars from the glass in a mélange of pear, white cherry, citrus peel, a superb
base of slate minerality, bee pollen, white flowers and gentle, wild yeasts overtones. On the
palate the wine is pure, medium-full and very filigreed, with great focus, seamless balance and
truly stunning elegance and refinement already in evidence right out of the blocks. The finish is
very, very long, nascently complex and oh, so promising. It will be very interesting to follow
these last two Spätlesen over the course of the unfolding decades and see if they start to dovetail
