The 2013 Barolo Margheria is deep, layered and highly expressive, with a super-classic interplay of beguiling Serralunga aromatics, fruit and structure. Menthol, pine, tobacco, wild cherry and rose petal emerge from this deceptively mid-weight, muscular Barolo. The proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove, the 2013 Margheria has so much to offer, but readers will have to be patient. This is an especially brooding Barolo from Massolino.
