Here too there is just enough wood present to warrant noting though it does not impinge on the otherwise wonderfully elegant, pure and airy blue pinot fruit, violet, plum and soft earth scents. There is a lovely vibrancy and ample minerality to the intense yet seductively detailed flavors that are underpinned by moderately firm tannins on the balanced and strikingly persistent finale. from vines more than 50 years of age): Bright, healthy red. Very pure and vibrant but reticent aromas of raspberry, smoked meat and flowers. More pliant and sweet than the foregoing samples, offering captivating pinot fin inner-mouth perfume. Plenty of flesh here to support the wine's spine. Suave tannins spread out to saturate the palate on the vibrant, weightless back end. Lovely finesse here, and a classic example of the house style. -- Stephen Tanzer 92
