(from south-facing 85-year-old vines planted on fossilized calcaire in a cold combe): Bright medim red. Lovely cool perfume to the aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and flowers. Juicy but a bit youthfully folded in on itself, with a strong acid spine currently dominating the brisk flavors of crushed stone and flowers. But there's plenty of underlying intensity and density here, not to mention lovely length. This will need a few years of patience. -- Stephen Tanzer 88-91
