A difficult nose of reduction and wood spice gives way to big-bodied, concentrated and intense flavors that possess excellent volume on the suave and very round mid-palate though the finish tightens up moderately. There is an impressive amount of tannin buffering dry extract that renders the mouth feel such that this could easily be enjoyed now though there is also enough underlying structure to merit 6 to 8 years of cellaring.
