Notes:

A less elegant but every bit as complex nose demonstrates a distinctly different aromatic profile with a much earthier character to the spice, red pinot and mildly sauvage aromas. The intense and strikingly pure flavors ooze a fine and relatively discreet minerality, all wrapped in a tautly muscled, balanced and marvelously persistent finish. This harmonious effort is relatively fine by the standards of the terroir and this should amply reward mid to long-term cellaring. In a word, terrific.Burghound 92-94 Sweet Spot Outstanding!

Bright red. Deep, complex aromas of redcurrant, red raspberry, smoky minerality, menthol and musky soil tones. Round, supple and rich; quite full in the mouth but given shape by firm minerality and a vein of nervy acidity. Finishes floral, gripping and very long. Superb and complete Volnay--and built to age.
