Notes:

The 2010 from Domaine Bize was also now in tank and was showing exceptional potential. The deep, pure and nascently complexnose soars from the glass in a beautiful mélange of black cherries, dark berries, bonfires,a brilliantly complex base of soil, espresso and a pungently floral topnote of violets. Onthe palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure, with a sappy core of fruit, stunningsoil inflection, ripe, fine-grained tannins, laser-like focus and outstanding length and gripon the perfectly poised, youthful and refined finish. A great, great bottle of Savigny in themaking. 2020-2060+. View from the Cellar 95

This is quite backward and still very primary with its purple fruit, violets and distinctly earthy nose. There is good richness and volume to the round and utterly delicious flavors that possess a textured mouth feel in large part because of the excellent dry extract level, all wrapped in an impressively complex, balanced and highly persistent finish. This notably firm effort should age effortlessly for 10 to 15 years. Burghound 91-93
