Notes:
John Gilman's View from the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010.
The 2009 Lafarge les Aigrots is a superb bottle in the making. The nose jumps from the glass in a vibrant mlange of cherries, blood orange, greats minerally soil tones, a touch of coffee and a floral topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very pure, with a tight-knit personality, ripe tannins and a long, complex and tangy finish. I would give this lovely Beaune six or seven years of cellaring before having at it in earnest. A lovely bottle. 91+ points.
Allen Meadows' Burghound, May 2011.
A more complex and broader range of fruit aromas include red currant, plum, blue berry, violets and the classic Aigrots minerality lead to fleshy but well detailed flavors that possess good richness as there is ample extract to buffer the otherwise firm tannins on the vibrant and delicious finish. 90-92 points.
