John Gilman's View from the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010
The 2009 Vaulorent is a breathtakingly beautiful bottle of young premier cru inthe making. The fantastic nose offers up a complex blend of green apples, pinkgrapefruit, lime, a very complex base of flinty soil tones, smoke and a bit of citrus peel.On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very pure, with a rock solid core offruit, laser-like focus, great cut and grip and a very, very long and complex finish. Iwould give this great wine three or four years in the cellar to really let it blossom, andthen drink it with wild abandon over the ensuing couple of decades. 2014-2035+. 94 points.
A classic and marvelously elegant nose of oyster shell, tidal pool, iodine, green fruit and dried white flowers is very much in keeping with theconcentrated, powerful and serious middle weight flavors that culminate ina sappy finish of superb length. This is most impressive, especially forits impeccable balance. Burghound 93 Outstanding!
