I hadn't tasted this since my original review in 2010 and I'm happy to report that the '08 Malc is coming along nicely and even though it has not yet arrived at its apogee, it's sufficiently close that it's no longer a complete crime to open a bottle. Though the nose remains largely primary there are wisps of secondary fruit present along with ample spice and floral elements. There is good power and mid-palate density to the surprisingly supple middle weight plus flavors though the ever-so-slightly austere finish tightens up suficiently to suggest that a few more years of patience should be amply rewarded. It seems reasonably clear that this should further harmonize as well as develop more depth. In a word, excellent. Tasted twice in the last few years with consistent results, indeed the 2019 bottle already seemed more harmonious than the 2017 example.  Burghound 93
