(Beaune Clos des Ursules- Maison Louis Jadot) The Clos des Ursules was the very first wine to finish up its malo and was racked all the way back in April of 2009. Consequently, the wine was really singing in November, as it soared from the glass in a stunning nose of black cherries, dark berries, a kaleidoscopic base of soil, dark chocolate and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy and pure at the core, with great focus and balance, fine-grained tannins, and superb length and grip on the bright and bouncy finish. Just a classic vintage of this great premier cru. (Drink between 2016-2045) John Gilman 93
