Bright medium ruby. Superripe, sweet, soil-driven aromas of blackberry, cassis, smoke, truffle, earth, cinnamon and nutmeg, plus a whiff of magnolia blossom. At once sweet and gripping, with fruit of steel. The taut berry and iron flavors reminded me of a very ripe Graves. A very complex, very young wine with great personality and outstanding length. 92(+?) points

A wine with plenty of ripe fruit, earth and tobacco character on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a raisiny, spicy aftertaste. Best after 2006. 5,580 cases made. Spectator 91
