The 1998 Cuvee Reservee requires another 2-3 years of cellaring. It is an old style, full-bodied effort revealing notes of roasted meats, beef blood, herbes de Provence, kirsch liqueur, sandalwood, and spice. Rich, full-bodied, moderately tannic, super-pure and dense, this gorgeous offering is the finest Cuvee Reservee produced since 1990. Parker 94 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan/Feb '01Saturated ruby. Liqueur-like kirsch and framboise aromas; superripe but not pruney. Very rich, deep flavors of sweet red fruits; still a bit youthfully aggressive but boasts terrific buffering volume. The strong but fine tannins reach the entire mouth. Has 2.4 grams per liter of residual sugar but does not come across as sugary, just ripe in a major way. 92(+?) points
