Champagne Pierre Péters
For over a century, Champagne Pierre Péters has been dedicated to crafting precise, expressive Blanc de Blancs from the chalk-rich slopes of the Côte des Blancs. As one of Champagne’s preeminent grower-producers, Pierre Péters embodies a deeply terroir-driven philosophy. The family’s wines are exclusively made from Chardonnay, vinified to highlight finesse, minerality, and aging potential that only Grand Cru chalk soils can deliver.
Unlike larger houses that blend across regions and grapes, the Péters approach is about clarity—capturing the essence of a place, vintage after vintage.
Founded in 1919 by Camille Péters, the estate is now run by Rodolphe Péters, a sixth-generation vigneron with formal training in oenology and microbiology. Rodolphe combines tradition with technical precision—emphasizing long élevage, perpetual reserve blending, and organic farming. His minimal-intervention approach preserves purity while lees aging builds texture and complexity.
Pierre Péters owns 17.5 hectares of vines, nearly all in Grand Cru villages like Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant. These chalk-rich, east-facing vineyards are the heart of the Côte des Blancs—and the source of some of the most sought-after Chardonnay in Champagne.
“The workhorse in the range is the NV Cuvée de Réserve Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, an excellent introduction to the house style. The current release is made primarily from the 2021 vintage and blended with over 50% perpetual reserve wine. It's vinified in a combination of stainless steel and oak casks to preserve freshness and energy, which is beautifully balanced by the complexity of the reserve wine. The profile is pure Côte des Blancs: citrus oil, white blossom, crushed oyster shell, and a fine chalky cut. A delicious Champagne of pedigree—a reference-point NV for any connoisseur.”

“Based on the incisive 2021 vintage and 50% perpetual reserve, aged in stainless steel, oak casks, and concrete. The most floral in the range, with aromas of honeysuckle, citrus fruit, acacia, and beeswax. Bright, lightly structured Champagne laden with racy acids and a focused finish. Disgorged May 2024 with six grams/liter dosage.”

“Réserve Oubliée takes NV to the next level. Current release is 50% 2018 vintage and 50% perpetual reserve (started in 1988). Aged ~60 months under cork, partial malo, and extensive lees aging add layered complexity. Disgorged March 2024 with 4g/l dosage. Notes of baked bread, toasted nuts, vanilla pod, dried fruit—harmonious, enveloping, with vibrant acidity and lip-puckering salinity.”

“From three old-vine parcels in Le Mesnil’s most revered lieu-dit. The 2017 Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons was disgorged July 2024 with 4g/l dosage. More open and charming than the 2016—notes of almond, iodine, clams, citrus fruit. Generous and mineral-laced with powerful musculature, bright acidity, and a long saline finish. Aged 6.5 years sur lattes, plus one year post-disgorgement.”
