Article: 2021 La Ca Nova Barbaresco

2021 La Ca Nova Barbaresco

If you haven’t yet received the memo, 2021 is a tremendous vintage for Italian wine from Tuscany to Piedmont. We are buying up everything we can get our hands on, and have some especially wonderful offerings in the sub $50 range. The wines have it all, plenty of fruit, great balance, nice acidity and tannin, which will ensure these are going to last as long as you can keep your hands off of them.

After tasting this one, I pressed the importer for all he would sell me. He started with only wanting to sell me 5cs, but I begged and pleaded and eventually pried another 5 from him. I fear 10cs isn’t close to enough. This is Nebbiolo that drinks like a $100 bucks!

Buy this with confidence and don’t be afraid to tuck it away for a few years. In a few, you are going to look like a genius when you pull this out. Mark my words, you will wish you had cases! At under $40 this is a no brainer. Trust me on this one. 😇

The 2021 Barbaresco is impressive. Intensely aromatic and explosive, the straight Barbaresco shows why 2021 is such a pedigreed vintage. Spice, lavender, sage and mint meld into a core of blue/purplish fruit. A gorgeous, overachieving wine, the 2021 just needs time in bottle.
