Notes:
Bright, pale yellow. Pure but reticent aromas of orange blossom, flint and oyster shell, plus hints of quinine, lavender and elderflower. Wonderfully dense and vibrant in the mouth, conveying great eclat to the flavors of fresh pineapple, ripe grapefruit, fleur de sel and minerals. Highly complex, chewy wine with palate-staining minerality and echoing notes of powdered chalk. Billaud told me that this wine was more open in the early going than the Mont de Milieu but now it's a classic strict, minerally Chablis in need of extended cellaring. Really wonderfully suave and balanced premier cru, more satisfying than most grand crus from the region. Steve Tanzer 93+
