It's 100% Chardonnay from five Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. It spent nearly 10 years aging sur lattes and was disgorged in July 2025. The wine shows the sunny character of the 2015 vintage, which means plenty of that signature brioche character coupled with a penetrating almost crystalline purity. This is another fantastic vintage that will take its place amongst some of the finest Comtes de Champagne produced by Taittinger since the first vintage in 1952.
The 2015 Comtes de Champagne is delicate, airy and wonderfully expressive. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk, mint and slate are finely sculpted in the glass. Light on its feet and crystalline, the 2015 is terrific. There's a touch of savoriness that is typical of the year, but it is not dominant or overpowering. At present, the 2015 shows a bit of tightness from its recent disgorgement, but that should not be an issue in time. Comtes is a real success in a year that was quite challenging.
