Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Extra Brut (R21

Egly Ouriet 2026

There are certain Champagne allocations I always look forward to, and Egly is right near the top of that list.

Egly-Ouriet has reached rare territory. The wines have become some of the most sought-after in Champagne, followed closely from one disgorgement to the next and increasingly difficult to secure in any breadth. Our last offer barely had time to settle before the wines disappeared, so I’m especially excited to offer the new releases, with fresh base vintages and disgorgements across eight different wines.

There’s a stature to the domaine now that’s hard to ignore. Years of patient élevage, uncompromising work in the vineyards, and a style that is unmistakably Egly have put the domaine in extraordinary company. Every bottle carries that pedigree, from the first wine in the range to the most profound cuvées. And with Egly, each new disgorgement feels significant—the wines spend years in the cellar before François decides they’re ready to leave.

That’s what makes a new Egly allocation feel like an occasion. You know the names, you know the reputation, and then you see what François has finally let out of the cellar. There’s a certain thrill in seeing the next chapter of these wines come into view. They’ve earned that kind of anticipation. I’d simply give this one the attention it deserves.

These wines represent the 2026 disgorgement and will arrive in early 2027. Secure your allocation today!

“Based on the 2021 vintage and incorporating 50% reserve wines from 2020 and 2019, Egly's NV Grand Cru was vinified entirely in wood and disgorged in 2026 with a dosage of two grams per liter. As always, it derives largely from Ambonnay, complemented by fruit from Bouzy, Verzenay and Verzy. Opening in the glass with aromas evocative of Granny Smith apple, nashi pear, rooibos, nectarine and citrus oil, it is medium-bodied, nicely concentrated and chiseled, with a cool-climate profile underpinned by incisive acidity. It concludes with a long, chalky, lemon-tinged finish. It is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.”

“Based on the 2022 vintage and disgorged in May 2026 with a dosage of two grams per liter, Egly's NV Les Prémices emerges from the glass with aromas of orange oil, pear and peach mingled with fresh bread. Medium-bodied, rich and fleshy, with ripe yet racy acidity, it offers a textural profile animated by a pillowy mousse. Vinified entirely in stainless steel, it incorporates 50% reserve wines from 2021 and 2020 and derives from the village of Trigny in the Massif de Saint-Thierry.”

Les Vignes de Vrigny is one of the most distinctive wines in the Egly range, produced entirely from Pinot Meunier grown in the Premier Cru village of Vrigny. The cuvée comes from a single parcel of mature Meunier vines and, unlike the domaine’s wood-raised Grand Cru wines, is vinified and aged in stainless steel. The result is a particularly direct look at both the variety and the terroir of Vrigny, and a rare example of Meunier given this kind of standalone treatment within a top Champagne domaine.

Les Vignes de Bisseuil is built around 70% Chardonnay, with 15% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier, making it a striking contrast to the Pinot Noir-led Grand Cru wines at the heart of the Egly range. The fruit comes from Bisseuil, a Premier Cru village, and the wine is vinified in wood. The current release received 53 months of aging, giving this Chardonnay-dominant cuvée substantial time to develop before release.

The Grand Cru Rosé is a Pinot Noir-dominant rosé d’assemblage, traditionally composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, with a small portion of still red Pinot Noir from Ambonnay incorporated into the blend. The fruit comes from Egly’s Grand Cru holdings and the wine is vinified in barrel, bringing the Rosé firmly into the same élevage tradition as the domaine’s more powerful cuvées. It’s one of the clearest expressions of Ambonnay’s importance to Egly, combining the domaine’s Pinot Noir foundation with the structure and extended aging that define the house style.

“Based on the 2018 vintage and disgorged in May 2026 with a dosage of two grams per liter after seven years on the lees in the bottle, Egly's NV Grand Cru V.P. bursts from the glass with aromas of yellow apple, pear, fresh bread and quince. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, ample and textural, with incisive acidity, concluding with a long, chalky, green apple-tinged finish. Readers will require little additional motivation, as it remains one of the most reliable wines in the range, even if it does not quite attain the depth of the Blanc de Noirs Les Crayères.”

“One of the most precise wines produced in this challenging vintage is Egly's 2017 Grand Cru Millésime, a bright, concentrated Champagne that blossoms in the glass with aromas of mirabelle plum, orange oil and yellow apple, mingled with freshly baked bread and almond paste. Full-bodied, ample and layered, it opens with a textural attack that leads into a deep, enveloping mid-palate, animated by racy acidity and chalky extract that impart a sense of freshness. The wine concludes with a long, sapid, citrus-inflected finish. As usual, it is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from the grand cru village of Ambonnay, but this year it was disgorged with a dosage of one gram per liter.”

“One of the very finest wines produced in this less heralded vintage is Egly's 2014 Brut Grand Cru Millésime, a strikingly vinous and enveloping Champagne that wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, mirabelle plum, freshly baked bread, almond paste and honeycomb. Full-bodied, satiny and layered, its textural attack segues into a deep, concentrated mid-palate of exceptional purity and cut, concluding with a long, penetrating and mouthwateringly saline finish. As ever, it's a blend of some 70% Pinot Noir with 30% Chardonnay from Ambonnay's greatest terroirs.”
