Domaine Fichet - Meursault
I’m excited to offer three white Burgundies from Domaine Fichet—both exceptional values and long-time personal favorites. I first visited the estate in 2007, where Jean-Philippe Fichet revealed a secret: these Bourgogne Blancs are technically within the Meursault appellation, just outside the official boundary. That means you get Meursault pedigree—without paying Meursault prices.
Everything about these wines says Meursault: oily, palate-coating texture, ripe but structured fruit, and a zesty, lip-smacking finish. I love pouring them blind—people assume they’re drinking serious 1er Cru.
I opened a bottle of the 2021 Bourgogne Blanc while writing this email and was reminded just how great these wines are. Incredible length, clarity, and class—this is flat-out delicious white Burgundy that’s drinking beautifully now.

Firm reduction masks the nuances of the white orchard fruit and soft floral scents. Here too there is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the nicely detailed yet rich and voluminous flavors that also conclude in a dry, sneaky long and slightly firmer finale. Also worth a look.
- Burghound, 86-89 Outstanding!

The extended malo shows as the nose is quite lactic in character and presently dominates the fruit. More interesting are the slightly denser medium weight flavors that are firmer still. This too should be very good for its level.
- Burghound, 86-89 Outstanding!
This too is sufficiently reduced [and is] difficult to assess aromatically. Otherwise, the denser and richer medium weight flavors possess just a bit more overall depth and persistence. This is excellent for its level and worth your interest.
- Burghound Outstanding Top Value!
