2022 White Burgundy List of Our Remaining Stock
The list below represents our remaining stock on some of the most critically acclaimed 1er crus of the 2022 vintage, and many are my personal favorites.
Since returning from France and getting a first hand look at the amazing 2022 vintage, I’ve been beating the drum about it!! The press has finally caught up, and the reviews are nothing less than spectacular! This vintage is at least equal to, if not better than 2010, 2014 & 2017. In my opinion, this is one of the very best vintages of the last 30 years!
the 2022s are so good… that they not only should be in your cellars but they should be in your cellars in quantity. As I have already said, but in this context it bears repeating, 2022 is the best white burgundy vintage since at least 2017 (yes, better than 2020, if only a little), and it rivals, if not surpasses 2014 and 2010. I can’t offer a better endorsement than that.
- Burghound Issue 95 on vintage 2022
For the past 5 months, I’ve been cherry-picking my favorite White Burgundies at every opportunity. I bought these before the reviews, securing a good quantity at extremely low prices compared to the price jump after Burghound’s eye popping reviews came out. Many of the highly touted wines disappeared and what is still available is being offered at 20-30% higher than just a few weeks ago! If White Burgundy is something you buy, grab the 2022 vintage, you’ll want it in your cellar!
Some of the wines on the list I have offered before (links to those original emails included), others may be new to you since I didn’t send an email about them… or I may just have a couple cases.
Once they are sold out, it is unlikely I will have the opportunity to offer more, and certainly not at these prices. Containers will arrive at the end of July and another in September. Come fall, all wines will all be in stock and ready to ship in the fall.
“The 2022 whites, I highly recommend as they are excellent”

More subtle oak influence can be found on the cool, airy and exceptionally pretty aromas of citrus, white flower and Granny Smith apple. Once again there is a beguiling texture to the impressively rich and mineral driven medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate on the youthfully austere, firm and beautifully persistent finale. While this could reasonably be approached after only three to four years, it has an excellent track record for aging and is a wine that should repay up to a decade of keeping.

Cool aromas of mostly white flowers and apple are trimmed in an almost pungent minerality, indeed this too is like sniffing wet rocks. The precise and intensely stony middleweight flavors possess a refined mouthfeel that carries over to the precise, youthfully austere and tightly wound finale. This balanced effort is seriously good but also a wine that is going to require extended patience. This is absolutely a wine to look for.

This is also quite floral in style with its aromas of petrol, white orchard fruit and discreet hint of rosemary oil, all of which is trimmed in much more subtle wood treatment. There is more volume and power to the bigger-bodied flavors that are rich to the point of opulence while delivering fine length. This isn't refined but it doesn't lack for body and character.

There is a touch of natural exoticism in the form of spiced jasmine tea that adds interest to the cool floral and green apple-scented nose. There is a finer and more sophisticated texture to the beautifully detailed and punchy middleweight flavors that flash ample minerality on the lightly austere and impressively long finish. As is the case with several wines in the range, this too will need to add depth so at least some patience is in order. This is one to consider.

Cooler aromas of Granny Smith apples, essence of pear, acacia and crushed star anise are trimmed in all but imperceptible wood. Once again the medium weight flavors possess a highly attractive texture while exuding a subtle minerality that adds a sense of refinement and lift to the balanced, clean, nicely dry and slightly more persistent finish. This is lovely and worth considering.
