2022 Borgeot Bourgogne La Carbonade
The new arrival from Domaine Borgeot - 2022 Bourgogne La Carbonade - is in the warehouse! Over the past 5 vintages, this has been a domaine producing some truly exceptional wines. You may remember Rully and Santenay from years past.
This is the first vintage I’ve actually received enough quantity of the Monopole Bourgogne La Carbonade to write an email about it. I quietly brought a case of this home this past weekend and snuck a few bottles in the garage fridge. Faun sniffed it out and had a glass poured when I got home Monday night. When I told her I was charging $30 she quickly replied, “you’re not charging enough!” It’s that GOOD!
This is exactly the kind of white Burgundy I’m always searching for and crave. It displays a limey minerality with great energy, freshness and, of course, any white wine I’m going to recommend will always have great acidity. But the reason this one is extra special is how it hits your palate in a very linear way, then absolutely fans out, coating your mouth with a roundness that lingers, revealing depth and richness! It leaves your mouth watering for that next sip.
This is a stunner! I’ve only got 10 cases and when I called to order more (realizing I’d quickly rip through the quantities I’d ordered), the importer told me THERE IS NO MORE. Grab this one before it's gone - you can thank me later.
