2002 Cathiard Vosne Romanee 1er Malconsorts

(with thanks to Dr. Reed Day). Discreet wood frames the elegant floral hints that combine with earth, plum and cassis aromas. There is excellent purity to the pure, detailed and focused middle weight flavors that are still quite powerful and robust on the mineral-driven and impressively long finish that displays just a hint of acid tang. This is quite masculine in character and while it could certainly be approached now with pleasure I would suggest holding it for another 2 to 4 years first. Tasted thrice with consistent notes save for one bottle that display enough reduction to notice.  Burghound 92 (Tasted 2017)
