2021 Samuel Billaud Chabis 1er Vaillons Vieilles Vignes

A slightly cooler and more elegant nose features notes of white pepper, citrus peel, wet stone and an abundance of classic Chablis elements. There is outstanding intensity to the overtly mineral-driven flavors that don't possess quite the same density, yet the cuts-like-a-knife finish delivers even better length as well as more developed depth. From 60-year-old vines matured in stainless steel only, the 2022 Chablis Vaillons Vieilles Vignes ler Cru is very backward on the nose with light iodine and oyster shell scents. The palate is well balanced, taut and linear, very saline in the mouth, with the marine-influence finish for a huge terrine of fruits de mer. Don't say I didn't warn you! Excellent.  Neal Martin 93
